International Conference of CA 2022, on global presence of Accounting Profession of ICAI
The International Conference of CA Students was inaugurated at Kolkata almost after a decade.More than 6500 students attended this conference virtually from all across the country and also students representing all major Asian International Accounting bodies.
In the inaugural session, CA Nihar N Jambusaria, President, ICAI and CA (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Vice President, ICAI were present and also attended by Chief Guest, Mr. Vivek Gupta, MLA and Chief Editor of Sanmarg and Guest of Honour Mr. Maninder Singh, Former Indian Cricketer.
President, ICAI, at the inaugural session, acknowledged the global presence of Accounting Profession of ICAI and informed dynamics of the profession has also changed over a period of time as the expectations of society and Government have substantially increased from CAs. We have come far from making only financial statements and reporting to sustainability that is the need of the hour for this global profession.
Also present in the session Vice President, ICAI, while addressing the participant informed that ICAI is always proactive towards its role in nation building by successfully handling GST introduction in the year 2017, Income tax Portal issues, schemes like Vivad se Vishwas to reduce the pending IT litigations and generate timely revenues for the Government. Mr. Maninder spoke about importance of having passion about the life’s target and motivated students to work for passion and Mr. Vivek spoke about the expectation of the society from the CA fraternity and ICAI should continue to deliver on the expectation of the society.
The Conference Chairman CA Sushil K Goyal, informed that the International Conference is of CA Students and not for CA Students on the theme “Aim, Act, Achieve”. He also informed that there are 6 Knowledge Sessions along with 4 Growth Sessions having prolific and eminent speakers like BK Sister Shivani, Shri Gyanvatsal Swami, Ms. Jaya Kishori and Mr. Aakash Gautam. The Knowledge sessions will be having total 24 paper presenters from across the nation.
