All India Federation of Tax Practitioners organised Inauguratiion ceremony of Eastern Zone’s National Tax Conference of AIFTP
Kolkata : The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) organized the Eastern Zone’s National Tax Conference of AIFTP with the theme “New Tax Laws. Impact and Promotion” where in more than 400 eminent tax practitioners from all over the country participated. This National Conference is an endeavor to maintain and develop competencies of the taxation professionals, to enhance their knowledge, expertise and skill sets for Court Litigation and in varied areas of the profession.The Inaugural session of the Eastern Zone’s National Tax Conference of AIFTP was inaugurated by: Hon’ble Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee, Former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court; Mr. Khalid Aziz Anwar, Commissioner, Directorate of Commercial Taxes, WB & was attended by: Mr. D.K. Gandhi, National President of AIFTP; Hon’ble Justice Md. Nizamuddin, Judge Calcutta High Court; Mr. Achintya Bhattacharjee, Conference Chairman;
Mr. Vivek Agarwal, Conference Secretary and National Joint Secretary. On this occasion, Mr. Vivek Agarwal, Conference Secretary and National Joint Secretary of AIFTP stated, “National Conference is an integral part of the Tax Practitioners which helps the professional to enhance their knowledge. Under the able guidance of Dr. Ashok Saraf and N.D. Saha, the federation has achieved new milestones and set new benchmarks.”
About AIFTP :
AIFTP’s main object is to spread education in matters relating to tax laws, other laws and accountancy. Inspired by the ideology to have a common platform for all those who practise in taxation laws, irrespective of their individual affiliations and to enable them to share the benefits of their learning, experience and knowledge, eminent professionals from the fields of Direct and Indirect Taxes conceived the idea of establishing an all India body for tax practitioners. The Federation has been making Representations to focus the grievances of trade, industry and
professionals. It regularly sends Pre and Post Budget Memorandums. Many of the suggestions and the recommendations are accepted. The Kar Vivad Samadhan Scheme, 1998 was suggested by our
Federation. In order to get tax laws simplified and rational, it has filed more than 20 Writ Petitions in public interest. Representations are made to the Central and State Governments and higher tax
administration for redressal of grievances and simplification of tax laws. It regularly publishes books in simple language and question answer format at a low cost. It has published more than 35 books till date.
