Fortis Hospital in Anandpur Kolkata Empowers Loreto College Students with Basic Life Support Skills
Kolkata : Fortis Hospital, Anandpur Kolkata, conducted a successful Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for students and faculty of Loreto College on May 11, 2023. Led by Dr. Sanjukta Dutta, Head and Consultant, Emergency Medicine, the session aimed to equip the youth with essential knowledge and skills to respond quickly and effectively in medical emergencies.
BLS training is crucial in recognizing warning signs of heart attack, stroke, foreign body airway blockage, and providing basic care. The session covered various emergency situations and demonstrated the correct techniques to provide immediate assistance. 195 participants attended the event, and Fortis Kolkata had made awareness with BLS camps for approximately 7000 people in the last year.
Dr. Sanjukta Dutta emphasized the importance of BLS training for college students, stating that it instills a sense of responsibility, empathy, and preparedness. Sr. Christine Coutinho, Principal of Loreto College, expressed gratitude for the valuable knowledge and skills imparted to their students and faculty.
