Kolkata : Kerala, renowned for its natural beauty and vibrant culture, is cementing its status as a year-round tourist magnet with innovative offerings like the IPL-inspired Champions Boat League (CBL). This dynamic annual event is set to elevate Kerala’s appeal, drawing domestic tourists from all corners of the country.

Following the triumphant Onam celebrations, which attracted a surge in visitors, the third edition of the IPL-modeled CBL is poised to further boost domestic tourism later this month. The CBL showcases thrilling snake boat races across Kerala’s picturesque backwaters, featuring scores of rowers powering the Chundan Vallam boats, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohamed Riyas emphasized Kerala’s efforts to stimulate post-pandemic domestic tourism. He stated, “Kerala has launched attractive products and expanded existing ones to meet tourists’ demands, aiming to attract more domestic visitors.”

Kerala Tourism recently received the PATA Gold Award for its impactful campaign, “Make up for lost time, pack up for Kerala,” designed to entice travelers adjusting to post-COVID normalcy.

To attract more domestic tourists, Kerala Tourism is organizing partnership meetings, trade fairs, and B2B trade meets in cities like Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Rajkot in September and October.

Tourism Secretary Shri K Biju highlighted Kerala’s growing popularity as a wedding destination, offering natural beauty, top-notch accommodations, and excellent banquet facilities.

Kerala’s diverse offerings include houseboats, caravan stays, jungle lodges, plantation visits, Ayurveda wellness solutions, countryside walks, adventure activities, and iconic attractions like beaches, hill stations, and backwaters.

In 2022, Kerala earned recognition and awards at major tourism and travel fairs worldwide, solidifying its position as an extraordinary travel destination.
