Unveiling ‘Kabuliwala’ Crafting a Tale of Love and Fortitude in a Promising Short Film

Kolkata : The compelling narrative behind the creation of the short film “Kabuliwala” showcases not just the collective dedication of the entire team but also reveals unique tales of perseverance woven during its shooting.

This emotive story follows the journey of a asafoetida salesman from Afghanistan, finding fatherly affection in a small five year old girl from a middle-class elite family living in Kolkata,triggering complex familial tensions.
Initially penned by Rabindranath Tagore in 1892, the Bengali short story “Kabuliwala” sparked inspiration for Dr. B. D. Mukherjee, to embark on shooting this film, partnering with Piyush Chatterjee. Together, they meticulously crafted a poignant one-hour piece, soon to debut on a YouTube channel or as a standalone movie.
In an astonishing twist, Bihaan Chattopadhyay, a Class 3 student, delivered an exceptional portrayal of Mini .The whole short movie was completed within just three days of filming in Simulia village, Murshidabad district.
