Bengal’s ENT Visionary, Dr. Dwaipayan Mukherjee, Leads National Healthcare Revolution”
Kolkata : In response to escalating pollution levels across India, causing a surge in respiratory issues, Bengal emerges as a pioneer in ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) treatment. The state’s medical fraternity celebrated the election of Dr. Dwaipayan Mukherjee as the President of ‘The Association of Otolaryngologists of India’ (AOI), marking a significant milestone as the first Bengali to lead a national medical organization.
Dr. Mukherjee, the youngest president in AOI’s 76-year history, highlighted the need for tailored healthcare guidelines amidst cultural and environmental differences. Moreover, the relocation of the renowned ‘Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery’ to Kolkata promises enhanced research publication and quality assessment.
At a recent event in Kolkata, Dr. Amitabh Roy Choudhury, President of AOI’s West Bengal branch, expressed optimism about Bengal’s pivotal role in shaping national ENT healthcare policies. Dr. Mukherjee, in his address, emphasized collaboration among ENT specialists and the media to advance healthcare initiatives tailored to Indian needs.
