Kolkata, February 13, 2025: Expanding its e-commerce dominance, Meesho has witnessed an impressive 30% year-on-year increase in orders from West Bengal, further solidifying its presence in the region. This growth aligns with a significant 24% rise in new shoppers, showcasing the growing digital adoption among consumers. Notably, 45% of these shoppers are first-time e-commerce users, underscoring Meesho’s role in democratizing online shopping.

The platform’s extensive catalog, coupled with affordable pricing, has resonated with users across the state. Popular purchases include t-shirts, jewelry sets, dresses, analog watches, bracelets, and bangles, reflecting regional fashion preferences. Additionally, tech-savvy consumers are actively engaging by sharing product reviews and ratings, fostering trust and transparency within the marketplace.

Meesho continues to dominate as the most downloaded shopping app in India for the fourth consecutive year, crossing 30 crore+ app downloads in 2024. In West Bengal, app downloads surged by 82%, with shoppers from Kolkata, Howrah, Siliguri, Hooghly, Barrackpore, and Barasat embracing the platform. Even remote areas like Mathabhanga, Birpara, and Chalsa have contributed to the growing customer base.

The expansion of Meesho Mall has further enhanced access to branded products, bridging the gap for well-known names like Denver, Envy, Mamaearth, and Joy to enter tier-2+ markets. This initiative has provided regional brands with a platform to connect with new customer segments.
