The commissioner of Police of Chandannagar Police commissionerate Dr Humayun Kabir along with  DC headquarters  Subrato Ganguly,  DC Serampore Eshani Pal ,IC Dibyendu Das of Shrirampur Police Station and other Police officers  participated in ceremony of 73rd Independence Day celebrations as well as Raksha Bandhan  celebration at Chandannagar police commissionerate area.

The main event was held at the Chandannagar Commissionerate headquarters where CP Chand Humau Kabir of Chandan Nagar Commissionerate celebrated the 73rd anniversary of Independence Day by hoisting the national flag and saluting the tricolor in a grand manner. On this occasion, Emergency Combat Force Unit was also inaugurated in Chandannagar Commissionerate area as part of an exercise to better handle the law and order situation and provide better policing

arrangements to the common citizens. Apart from this, varnished control room equipped with state-of-the-art facilities was also inaugurated by CP Humayu Kabir. After this, CP along with his top officials reached Imambara Sadar Hospital in Chuchura where in the hands of hospitalized patients the CP and other policemen tied a rakhi and presented sweets to them. New plants were also planted as a symbol of peace and unity. Students of various Hindi, Bangla and Urdu medium schools of Rishra town tied rakhi in the wrists of their police brothers on the occasion of Independence Celebration organized by the police of Risra police station. And as a gift of Rakshabandhan, sweets and other gifts were presented to the sisters from the police. Apart from this, sweets were distributed among the poor, courtesy of police of Risra police station. The event was organized under the leadership of OC Praveer Dutt of Risda L Police Station. In this, Sub Inspector Sanjay Sarkar of the police station, Pradeep Das also played the leading role.
