Senco Gold & Diamonds Launches Handmade Jewellery Collection, ‘Padaboli’, in Collaboration with Weavers
Kolkata : Senco Gold & Diamonds, the largest organized jewellery retailer in Eastern India, has launched a unique collection of handmade silver and non-silver jewellery called ‘Padaboli’ under its fashion and lifestyle jewellery sub-brand Gossip. The four-day exhibition kicked off on March 23rd and is showcasing a collaboration between Senco Gold & Diamonds and weavers to create jewellery that matches the designs on handwoven sarees. The exhibition, held at the Gallery Gold Art Centre in Kolkata, provides an opportunity for jewellery and saree lovers to experience Bengal’s rich tradition of craftsmanship and artisanship. The Padaboli collection is curated especially for the esteemed customers of Senco Gold & Diamonds and celebrates Poila Baisakh, displaying the intricate skills of artisans and weavers of Bengal.
The exhibition’s inauguration took place in the presence of singer Lopamudra Mitra, Ms. Joita Sen, Director, Senco Gold & Diamonds, and Jayati Mukherjee, Senior Faculty of jewellery designing at NIFT. After the success of the first edition of the exhibition last year, the second edition features an exclusive Gossip collection showcasing traditional jamdani, handloom, and kantha-stitch saree designs portrayed in jewellery made of silver and other alloy metals. Artisans have created this unique combination of jewellery designs by matching different geometric shapes, birds, trees, leaves, and animals on the sarees.
Senco Gold & Diamonds collaborated with veteran textile designer and weaver Manas Ghorai for this exclusive exhibition. The brand aims to revive centuries-old, forgotten weaving techniques blended with contemporary jewellery designs and motifs through this unique initiative. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Joita Sen said, “We want to give women a new form to their desire of dressing up in new ways that provides self-satisfaction and individuality.”
Customers can buy sarees and jewellery of their choice during the exhibition from 3 pm to 8 pm. Each saree comes with matching necklaces, earrings, and bangles, with the price range starting from INR 1000. From March 26th onwards, the Padaboli collection will be available at all Senco Gold & Diamonds showrooms
