MEA and NCGG Complete Training of 45 Bangladeshi Civil Servants
New Delhi : The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the National Center for Good Governance (NCGG) have completed their Capacity Building Program (CBP) for the 58th batch of Bangladesh Civil Servants. The program trained 45 officers on designing and executing effective public policies and programs to improve the quality of life of citizens.
The training was concluded with remarks from Bharat Lal, Director General of NCGG, who urged the officers to be responsive to the needs of the people and stressed the vital importance of redressal of public grievances in a time-bound manner. He highlighted the developmental partnership between the two countries and emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’, urging civil servants to bridge the gap between citizens and the government.
NCGG has collaborated with the MEA and the Indian Mission in Dhaka to train approximately 2,055 civil servants from Bangladesh. The organization has taken up the responsibility of building the capacity of civil servants from developing countries, having provided training to civil servants from 15 countries so far.
During the training, NCGG shared various initiatives taken in the country such as changing the paradigm of governance, rejuvenation of rivers with special reference to Ganga, leveraging digital technology, changing India’s rural landscape, passport services, and more. Mr. Lal also tweeted after the event, highlighting the importance of citizen-centric governance, engagement, and the use of digital technology in planning, execution, and monitoring of projects and public service delivery.
