Kolkata : INIFD Saltlake, the world’s number one design institute network, has been honored with the prestigious Platinum Centre status worldwide. Presenting ‘The Annual Interior Design Exhibition’ – Infusio’23, INIFD Saltlake invites visitors to its campus for three consecutive days from June 15th to 17th, 2023. This year’s exhibition revolves around the theme of ‘DIMENSIONS’, highlighting the indispensable role of dimensions in design. Students have ingeniously incorporated all three dimensions along with the fourth dimension in their exhibits.

In the dimension of lines, students have created captivating spaces using strings. They have skillfully crafted interesting patterns with threads, cords, and UV lights, resulting in a surreal experience for visitors. The category of Furniture showcases the students’ transformation of 2-dimensional drawings into intricate 3-dimensional forms, with each design conceptually unique.

Delving into history, another group of talented students has recreated fantastic landmarks of Asian history in the ‘Retrieving Memories’ category. Combining 2D drawings and 3D models, they have also proposed restoration ideas for these heritage buildings. Anthropometric dimensions take center stage in the ‘Humensions’ category, where students showcase different anthropometric measurements through life-size human figures made of wire mesh, placed within intricately curated interior spaces.

The exhibition also explores the fourth dimension of time in Retail Designing. Students have transformed renowned brands into experiential centers, allowing visitors to embark on a journey through time. The exhibition was inaugurated by esteemed guests, including the Honourable Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China and renowned dancer Alokananda Roy, along with other dignitaries from the architectural and design community.

Eminent architects and designers, such as Ar. Ayan Sen, Ar. Rajdeep Sinha, Mr. Raja Sinha, Mr. Ajit Jain, and Mr. Dulal Paul, graced INIFD Saltlake to assess the students’ works and share their valued opinions. The event also welcomed notable guests like Dr. Dipankar Banerjee, the Deputy Superintending Archaeological Chemist of the Archaeological Survey of India, and distinguished store owners like Mr. Anand Gupta from Decofur.

The exhibition not only celebrates design but also aims to instill aesthetic sense and technical accuracy in the students. Additionally, a mind-boggling maze with a selfie booth as the destination was created by the new students, showcasing their talent and creativity. The entire exhibition space, including the campus gate, corridors, utility areas, and stage, was meticulously designed and decorated by senior students.

To enhance the visitors’ experience, various engaging activities such as talk shows, cultural events, and debates were organized throughout the three-day exhibition. The grand event concluded with an award ceremony, where students from each category eagerly participated, showcasing their remarkable talent and enthusiasm. INIFD Saltlake’s Infusio’23 is a testament to the institute’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of exceptional designers.
