Kolkata : Taj City Centre Newtown, Kolkata, is currently hosting a captivating art exhibition titled “Paints & Strokes.” This exhibition, featuring the exceptional artwork of renowned artist Avanish Trivedi, brings the rich cultural tapestry of the “City of Joy” to life. Art enthusiasts and culture aficionados are invited to embark on a visual journey through the heart of Calcutta, encountering a stunning collection of contemporary paintings. The exhibition will remain open until September 23rd, promising a visual extravaganza filled with vibrant colors, intricate textures, and profound emotions.

“Paints & Strokes” serves as a tribute to the versatility of acrylic as an art medium, showcasing the extraordinary talent of Avanish Trivedi. Through vivid and lively canvases, Trivedi skillfully captures the essence of Calcutta’s streets. Set against the backdrop of Shamiana, known for its contemporary design and refined atmosphere, this exhibition seamlessly melds art and environment, creating a harmonious fusion of artistic expression.

Calcutta, often known as the “City of Joy,” has long been a wellspring of inspiration for artists, writers, and poets. With its deep-rooted history, architectural marvels, bustling streets, and the Ganges River, Kolkata’s unique charm captivates all who encounter it.

The exhibition presents a diverse array of artworks, spanning watercolors to acrylic paintings. Avanish Trivedi’s creations eloquently depict the daily life and culture of Calcutta, offering a perspective often overlooked and unrecorded. Visitors can anticipate an immersive journey through captivating portrayals of rickshaw pullers, bustling streets, iconic trams, and vibrant Durga Puja celebrations.

Avanish Trivedi, a self-taught artist employed at Tata Consultancy Services, has a profound passion for the world of art. His art has graced renowned galleries worldwide, and he has previously held solo exhibitions at Taj Bengal and in the California Bay Area.

Mr. Indranil Ray, General Manager of Taj City Centre Newtown Kolkata, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to present Paints & Strokes, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of contemporary artist Avanish Trivedi. During a live painting demonstration, Avanish Trivedi shared, “My art draws from the essence of Calcutta, a city teeming with emotions and untold stories, which I aim to capture through watercolors. My Calcutta Nostalgia Series debuted at Taj Bengal and has since garnered immense affection. Taj has graciously allowed me to commemorate the 5th anniversary of this series. I extend my gratitude to my mentor, Jiban Biwas, and I am delighted that Taj City Centre Newtown, Kolkata, has provided a platform for my artistic endeavors.”
