Kolkata : In an event held today at the Press Club in Kolkata, the extraordinary strength and resilience of women were celebrated in a music video titled ORA SOBAI DURGA, produced by Rahul Productions and featuring Sucharita Sarkar as Maa Durga.

This production sheds light on the belief that within every woman resides a goddess, a Durga, who safeguards against adversity and possesses the power to conquer demons. Durga’s strength transcends her many forms, as it resides within her thoughts and mind, exemplified by her ability to take on a fierce form when needed, such as “Annapurna Narayani Murti.”

Santanu Nandy (Director) expressed, “Our video, ORA SOBAI DURGA, aims to visually narrate the story of the Durga in every woman, celebrating their unbreakable spirit and power. It’s a tribute to the courage that defines them.”

Pratik Kundu (Music) shared, “This music video is a culmination of passion, creativity, and artistry, celebrating the indomitable spirit of women everywhere.”

In a poignant reflection, the video emphasizes the challenges women face in society, from gender-based violence to discrimination. The video portrays women from various walks of life, including athletes, cab drivers, cafe workers, eunuchs, civic police, and more, all embodying the spirit of Durga.

The video features eleven talented actresses, all newcomers, emphasizing that every woman has a Durga within. The goal is to honor and celebrate these real-life goddesses, paying homage to the mythological story of Goddess Durga’s triumph over the Asura.
